Can't Open Watch Face I've Been Working On

Hi - I’ve been working on a watch face today and when I went to close the program it asked me if I wanted to save. I said yes. The program hung up and eventually closed. I wanted to make sure that I could still get into the file but now Watch Face Studio won’t open the wfs file. I looked at the file information in File Explorer and the file size is 0. Is there anything I can do to retrieve all the work that I did today? I have it loaded successfully to my watch. Is there a way to pull the watch face off of there? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Do not wait to be prompted to save . I have had that problem . Save it before you close the IDE . It will jot take you long to rebuild the Face . It is good practice . We have all been there for one reason or another .

Thank you for your help. So I’m probably out of luck for this time? Oh another question I had is why don’t any of my watch faces that I do have saved show up in recent projects? They showed there a couple of days ago (and they weren’t move) and I am able to open them. Any ideas?

Are you saving your WFS file in the Default Folder ?

They are saved in the Watch Face Studio folder on an external drive. Now they are back to showing…strange…

I would keep them on the Laptop you are working on . External drives do thier own House Keeping when they want not when you want . To do this kind of thing seriously you need a Strong Reliable System . Why are you using an external drive . My laptop is not powerful but I have plenty of storage space free on an SSD and as much Memory as makes sense . Twice what is normally used .

Ok thanks for the help again! I really appreciate it!

Be wary, some people on here may not offer good advice, and may not be knowledgeable on current technologies, even though they have good intentions…

“External drives do thier own House Keeping when they want not when you want .” is an example of bad advice. External drives are great, and are easily managed. The are especially useful for backing up your designs. Device management is simple.

And then there is cloud computing

When I set up my WFS it made a default Folder for me . I decided that was the place that WFS would preferer and Store the Files I make on WFS . Yes I have to admit I do not know that much but I do not like to see People ask questions and Be left hanging . I did not offer wrong Advice . If an external drive is nearly full or the Internal drive for that matter it is a Disaster .
