Forecasthours exampes parameters

Did anyone already use the forecasthours with as a first parameter a number of hours and as second parameers the tag “IS_DAY”.
If I use this function I always get

1 as return value and I would think I get

  • 1 (true)
    • if the current time + the hours of the first parameter is a time during the day
  • and 0 (false)
    • otherwise

Or am I misunderstanding the IS_DAY parameter?
If i’m wrong

  • how to use the IS_DAY parameter
  • how to know if certain time in the future is during the day or during the night

I want to use this to show.or hide the correct forecast icons depending on the question if the future time is during the day or the night.

I think the Issue is the Tag is for the Current Condition . It can not possibly therefore be forecast even by an hour . Well that is my understanding . I frankly do not understand the hour by hour Forecasts. I have never found them that accurate . A day by day forecast with the possibility of showing the night time Icons is more than I can imagine being useful . If I was a Fisherman at sea and My life depended on the weather forecast by the hour I would not rely on Samsungs predictions . I would spend a Few Thousand on a bit of Kit that got it correct for my GPS Location .

You will see I have asked the question about the [WTHR_COND] Tag being broken . I have had no response there .

.

I’ve made few watchfaces with different icons for day and night.

I’ve made different set of images for day and for night.
For day set to be shown I’m using tag:
0 + [WTHR_IS_DAY]==1?100:0

and for night set:
[WTHR_IS_DAY]==1?0:100

I don’t think it can be done your way.

I know the WTHR_IS_DAY works for the day, I wanted to have something for forecasts and I thought the IS_DAY parameter would help me out.
Is it a bug or am I miisunderstanding the use of but there is no documentation abut this parameter.
But what is the use of that parameter if it isn’t what I thought?

I posted a shot of the Documentation above . [WTHR_IS_DAY] gives 0 or 1 nothing else . I note some only use ==1 in a conditional as no data may give errors . I am not sure why they do that .

Ok for the WTHR_IS_DAY but my question is for the IS_DAY parameter in the forecasthours function.
If it isn’t meant to be to give an answer to the question if x number of hours in the future is during the daywhat should it do?

OK . I am sorry . Frankly I think the whole WTHR Tags Collection is a shambles . I apologise for getting confused . I will have a look and see . I am surprised to see there os no Hours High / Low Tem .

.

I had a quick look and as you say . It does not budge from 1 ( Default Value ) on WFS .

.

Well here you go . This gives 0 on my watch . It is 14:30 here right now . My watch is a GW7 still on WOS5 .

(forecastHours(12,“IS_DAY”))

.

And I have a Galaxy Watch Ultra (2024) running on OS6 and I have the problem.
Ok so now I know it is a bug, I already created a ticket with Samsung, I hope they reply
