On certain Samsung mobile devices (including a Galaxy note 10 with Android 12 and One UI 4.1) we are seeing unnecessary BLE frame segmentation which is causing issue with our BLE peripheral.
The central (Samsung device) performs a BLE channel hop in the middle of sending a frame. The frame size is not excessive for the link layer parameters, as the data shows other packets of greater size transmitting without issue, so it’s not segmenting due to window size etc. Other mobile devices don’t perform this segmentation at all while connected to our peripheral. We’re looking to prevent segmentation around a channel hop.
