I’m curious what bugs people have encountered when using WFS. What things have you seen? Please keep issues in separate responses.
Tip: if you are running on macOS, you can launch WFS from a terminal and get a bit more info about what’s going wrong by reading the output in the terminal. I’ve been able to figure out a couple of issues this way.
One issue I’ve noticed is that WFS sometimes loses track of images such as hands and index images. This seems to happen with fonts as well, but since I haven’t even gotten one of those to work there might be more issues with the kind of font I’m trying to include, but nonetheless, I’ve gotten the file missing issue with those too.
The issue happens when I run on device multiple times over a long-running session.
I have to hack around WFS and manually invoke it’s enternal debugging tool from a terminal, to establish a connection to my watch, before starting WFS for my watch to show up as a run target when I try to run on device. This was really confusing, but luckily I was able to google my way onto a forum where someone said that it had helped them.
On this one we are aware of it. It appears to be a cache issue, after trying to connect and failing the first time close WFS and it restart and it will then “find” the watch.
On the lost resources hands and indexes I was able to duplicate this. I was using a GWS image and uninstalled and then reinstalled GWS and it could not find the image. I had to delete the image and reinstall it to avoid that error. Could this be your issue?
Well as you know with me build warning issue is the only problem I have I can design and save it with no problems just can’t get it to build or run on device.
This sounds like a path issue but Swap image isn’t how you are supposed to change hands in WFS. You should create a Style for the hands and indexes.
Select the one of the hand in the layer then in Style add a style and select the other image do this for hour, minute and second hands. Then add a style and select the next style hands you want to use and so on.
The issue with images disappearing is that there is a bug that causes WFS to lose track of the file, I’m not trying to change hands for fun, I’m trying to make anything show up again… I have found that I can make the missing image show by swapping in the same image again.
Another thing for the devs to look at, I guess. Overall I really appreciate having the program, but I would have expected more from a brand such as Samsung.
