I think I just published my first watchface, Resistor Time

As far as I can tell, my first Watch Face Studio face is now available for free at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.watchfacestudio.resistortime

It’s a fun little face that uses some conditional logic to the time not only in numbers, but also as colors bands of a through-hole resistor, using the universal color code for those kind of things.

Can people try it out and let me know if it actually installs correctly on their watches? This is a port of one I made for Pebble OS years ago, and getting this far with the Google Play store has been exhausting.

(I created my dev account back in mid-2023, so I just missed being affected by the 20 tester rule, it seems)

Thanks!

You are certainly fortunate that you created your developer account before the implementation of 20 testers. Now comes the fun part of trying to actually get something published on Google Play. What you have there is not working and it simply says “no elegible devices are available for install”. You also have only the App Icon screenshot displayed and no others for phone, tablet, Wear OS etc, did you upload the different screenshots? I am surprised that it wasn’t rejected.

There are so many things you have to figure out about Play Store yet, but just keep hammering away at it and eventually, through attrition, you will get it right. I warn you though, it can be very frustrating, hehe.

I thought I’d uploaded shots, but I don’t see them either so I’ll check and see where to do that again. I finally found the hidden “wearOS” agreement this morning.

Hmmm, checked the store listing and I have both a round and square screenshot uploaded, but don’t see them on the Play Store page.

I only have a watch target – I didn’t package anything for phone or tablet as it’s a watchface and only makes sense running on watch.

That doesn’t matter. As far as I know, you still have to upload an app Icon, at least 2 phone, and a Wear OS (multiple versions if you have options to change color/background). And yes, for Wear OS you have to go to advanced settings/form factors/ and opt-in to Wear OS. Also have to make sure you declare appropriate health declaration in policy and programs/app content

@MergeLabs . Nice tutorial comming along . :+1:

Same for me… “This app is not available for any of your devices”
So I cannot install it.

I never tried to publish a watchface 'cos reading about all the problems you have publishing watchfaces is scary…
I just don’t get it, why it has to be so complicated? Google should make it easy, I’m mean - they are making money out of it.

The got Bombarded with Renegades from Huawei when they Changed to home Grown OS . Also when the Tizen Shop Shut . But the Market is swamped with Stunning Designers so they can afford to be Picky .

I too am getting the same unavailable error.

My mentor Tomas @amoledwatchfaces suggested insuring that you have opted in for Wear OS

Don’t know, but it helped on my faces a while back
