Collection of third party apps?

Is there a repository for Tizen OS (2019 TV) installable apps that you can try out, like the emby beta version app that can be installed through “userwidget”?
In a sense an “app store” for hobbyists?

Thought I’d ask before spending more time searching.

Having trouble with an a video app showing all material as 4:3 so… when finding this forum I thought it might be fun to hang around.

Maybe this: https://www.samsung.com/us/appstore/browse

Looking for this myself. Just came across this github repository for installing Twitch.tv, a previously discontionued app for Tizen: GitHub - fgl27/smarttv-twitch: Twitch client for Samsung Smart TVs 2015 and newer models, in doubt read the README bellow.
It’s complicated but very well written.

What I have found is that you can compile your own. It will not let you install third party apps directly from TV.

You need to download tizen studio, link your TV to your compiler, and copy and compile code.
So far I have not come across a collection of these so called open source code repos.

The fact that you can add your own apps to your smart tv makes me believe there is still hope. Might make my own collection if I can’t find anything.

good question. Thanks for sharing the tips! gonna try too. I’ve also found a quite useful source, while doing my own research https://orangesoft.co/blog/alternative-app-stores) If you are familiar with it, let me know. I would appreciate any feedback

  1. Turn on Samsung Smart TV.
  2. Navigate to the Settings menu from the home screen.
  3. Select the Personal tab and look for the Security option.
  4. You should now be able to see the Unknown Sources setting. To enable it, toggle the switch next to it.
  5. Once enabled, you will be able to download apps from sources other than the Play Store.
