First time I am developing an android app, so forgive me, if what I am asking is basic.
In this app, I am building I would like it to take fingerprints on an android tablet, be it on-screen or the button so that it can cross-check against its own fingerprint database to log the person in.
Is this possible?

If this is not specifically for a Galaxy Tablet then you need to get help in the Android Developer’s forum. There are several of them available as well as example codes in Github
