My theme got rejected for this. But as you can see my font is used right in the Theme Studio. I never changed the font there. What is this reason for?

I would guess that the font looks different on the phone than on the preview. We all know that it’s a bug in the editor or in the OS, but also know that they probably have strict rules, regardless of where’s the fault.
I use images for the digits and never had that rejection, I think that this will solve the problem until they change the testing rules, the preview or the OS. It happened to report an issue to the support and to add it later at “recommended to be fixed”, so there is hope.
