This API has been available for since Android 12 yet even the highest-end S24 Ultra doesn’t support it. Is there a reason for that? Would it be possible for it to be allowed in OneUI 7? All the work has already been done after all for the AOSP…
Hi,
As per Google, Cross-window blurring is an expensive operation, so it’s supported only on selected devices.
As far as I know, some prerequisites are required to fulfill to support the API. If your device does not support this, you can check with developer support to know whether it is available or not.
I’m sorry but if a flagship Samsung phone like S24 Ultra doesn’t support simple blur, something is really wrong. Seeing that an application doesn’t allow blur because it is “not supported” feels really cheap.
