Adaptive brightness doesn't work on AOD display on Galaxy watch ultra

Adaptive brightnes on AOD display is broken on the Galaxy Watch Ultra. I just downloaded the latest update L705USQU1AXK6 with security patch November 1, 2024 on my GWU. I was dismayed that this issue still exists. I also have the latest version of WFS. Come on Samsung! fix this issue. If you want long battery life any watch face you create using WFS is virtually useless in bright sunlight on the AOD. If anyone knows a workaround let me know.

The only one I have found, way back to my Fossil Gen6 is to quickly wake the watch to the new light level and then gesture it back to AOD. The AOD will adapt after a wee while but the sensors, including ambient light, seem to be on slowmo during AOD to preserve battery so it checks much less frequently.
It can be annoying when in a rush but it’s not huge hardship for me to press the home button then palm press when moving from under a coat sleeve to a bright, sleeveless environment now I think I know what’s happening.
