Hi guys. How are you doing? I have another question. Is there a way how to turn the visibility of certain element according the selected background (image style)? I have one particular icon which I’d like to show/hide with different watch designs. Am I clear?
Thank you
You can Tap on an image to change it . But the size of the image is the Tap area . it is then exclusive . You can set the Image as a Style so you change it by going into the face customisation settings .
You have to let us have a bit more detail about what and when you want to hide / show the Image .
You want to change the Mask ?
Thank you. But that wasn’t what I was asking about… I wasn’t clear enough.
I have two different watch backgrounds (the watch main graphics). I would like to show/hide an icon so it’s visible with one background and hidden with the other one. Simply show/hide en element according to the image style… Is that possible?
Style is a Method in WFS for showing different Elements by user customisation on the Watch . Or the Icon can be an Image selected as an active element and swapped to a transparent layer on Tap .
No, I want to change font style
You want to swap from one font to another . Is it just a Text or a number that is actively changing .
Thank you. I’m sorry, English is not my native language (obviously). I can’t express myself right.
Please look. I’m working on these watches. I’d like to make a variation with a smaller display (marked by the red rectangle). But then, there is the icon (marked green), which gets out of the display area. My question is whether it’s possible to hide the icon, when user chooses the other watch design with the smaller display
Thank you very much!!!
So in that case the Icon probably Represents the Message notification . Are you using that Complication or is it just a visual artifact . Yes it is difficult with Different languages . Our interest is the Watch Faces so language is not a Barrier .
Yep. The icon serves as a message notification, you’re right!!! ([UNREAD_NC] >0? 100:0, not a complication.) The real thing uses this icon to show whether there’s an alarm active, but I changed its purpose to display unread messages
I’d like to make an alternative design (which uses the same module originally), so I could use most of the elements. But not all of them.
Also, thank you for your understanding. I don’t want to use the latest AI translators all the time, because I couldn’t improve my English that way.
OK . I am understanding now . I have to make a test to see what cam be done . We have Family Visiting at the moment . I can try a test soon . Someonone may dive in with an answer . You should continue with the other Elements of the Face .
Your English is very good . I can tell you whatever your Home Language is I would be useless . We are very lazy about other Languages in the UK . Remember a Picture tells a Thousand Words .
I think you can hide the icon behind a clone of the background image.
With one style it will be transparent image, with another copy of the background.
All other layers that should not be affected by this choice have to be above the copy.
btw. those were popular in eastern block in late 80s early 90s under “brand names” like Montana (I had one, claiming 16 melodies) or U.S.A. or Levis etc. all probably made in Hong-Kong.
I grew up in former Czechoslovakia (eastern block). I loved these because they were almost unreachable for common people. It still has some scent of something special to me that’s the reason I’m making the Watch Face. Also: Dakota is inspired by Montana.
In fact, the others of the set I’m making are Kettle=Kessel, Macronta=Micronta, Piratech=Piratron and Lemon=Citron
All those used the same module, looked similar, and had 7, 8 or 16 melodies. I forgot the Levis, I must look at it!
Thank you, you’re very kind!
I’m trying to avoid anything with transparency due to the higher battery drain. All my main watch graphics are in one layer used as a background for all other elements.
You made me dig out my childhood treasure to check on them. It was “something” back then, but now that I know more about watches in general, maybe they are cute, but dirt cheap knock-offs of some Casio or Seiko models (main thing was either melody or swordfish). Once you tried to replace battery, that brittle plastic cover cracked and all the glory was gone
I would not invest time in such nostalgic gimmick, if I could not add melodies as well.
Awesome collection But please, to the original topic… Does it mean, there is no way how to control other elements according the selected background graphics? Because I don’t only need to hide the icon, I also need to display another one several pixels lower. I’d like to use the same functionality (unread messages indicator) but within the smaller display area. Couldn’t be the Customization Editor under the image Style panel be used for the purpose. I didn’t discover this feature yet (actually I don’t know what is it good for).
It is a number that is actively changing : like Time font styles or complication font style
I am not completly understanding . You want to change the Font ?
