Hdmi DDc/ci channel enabling

Hello. Is it possible to enable the Ddc/ci channel from the HDMI cable on Samsung TV ?
Most displays support that and then I am able to control the backlight from a pc by example. But this is not supported by Samsung tv, particularly model UE50NU7455.
Is there a way to activate it ?
if not, is there another way to remotely control the backlight of the tv ? USB, an app ? anything.
thanks

Hi Addi,
did you get any feedback to this post ?
I actually have a smart monitor M8, and I desperately look how to enable DDC channel (vis USB C / display port) connexion, inn order to be able to control backlight and sound directly from my computer when I’m connected… it looks unbelievable to have this feature blocked on a monitor, but I don’t find…
any feedback from anybody would be highly appreciated !

Yeah, I have the same issue on my M8 monitor, and apparently a lot of other users …

They have a tutorial to ask Samsung support for that feature as a firmware update.:

It would be lovely if you spend 5 minutes of your time going on Samsung’s 24/7 support chat and following the steps:

  • Click ‘Technical product support’ → ‘Product Queries’ → ‘Monitors’ → ‘None of the above’
  • Type “Talk to a human” → ‘Yes, I want to connect to a Samsung Support Expert’
  • Kindly ask for DDC via DisplayPort to be added via a Firmware update.
