Usually, those 1-star reviews are from users who simply say “Doesn’t work” or “Doesn’t install” without providing any further details.
Both the Companion app and Watch faces are tested on multiple devices using Watch Face Studio’s “Run on Device” feature, Android Studio with Wi-Fi pairing (physical device), and an emulator.
Additionally, other people test both apps with promo codes, so these issues are not due to the app itself.
From what I’ve seen, these negative reviews stem from the following reasons:
- When they tap install, it doesn’t appear on their watch (fixed by turning Bluetooth/Wi-Fi off and on again on the watch) - a Google issue.
- They are prompted to pay again on the watch (a synchronization issue; impatient users don’t wait a minute or two) - another Google issue.
- Users ignore the installation guide, which states that after installation, they need to activate the Watch Face by pressing “+” and selecting it from the download section on the watch.
All of these, and many more issues, are not caused by the Developer (nor can they be fixed by us), yet we still receive 1-star reviews from impatient and uninformed users.
