I am trying to connect my Galaxy Watch Ultra to wireless debugging so I can send watch faces that I’m testing for myself to the watch. I have connected successfully to my watch before so I don’t know what I’m doing wrong now. I have enabled Developer Options on my watch, turned on Wireless Debugging, and tried to pair a new device. Tonight I’ve had several issues after tapping on pair new device. First of all, there are times after I select Pair New Device that my watch will just randomly restart. Secondly, I can’t seem to get the required information input quickly enough (so I temporarily changed the screen on time) and even when I do get it inputted, Watch Face Studio tells me it “failed to pair a device”. Sometimes when that happens my watch will show that my computer is paired but it doesn’t show up in Watch Face Studio even when I try to scan again, with my computer showing on my watch. I checked to make sure that there isn’t an update for the watch and it is up to date. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
You have already followed all the steps, could you please check this blog if you have missed anything:
You may try to turned off the Bluetooth of your watch and try to connect again. Here is a video of the steps clearly showed, you can check this video until 1:00 min.
Please share your update if your issue remains.
You do Realise with a new Watch the WiFi Port number will be Different. Check the WiFi connection on your watch . The port number will be there . So when you are connecting to your new watch change the Port number and start again .
Hi - Thank you both for your time and your help. Yes, I do know that a new watch has different WiFi Port number and I am using that number (I’ve connected the new watch before). Strange thing is, several hours after I tried to pair the watch it connected when I wasn’t trying. I don’t know why. Also, it concerns me that my watch restarted a couple of times when I didn’t tell it to. I wasn’t sure if there was a malfunction or something (I did check for updates). I will write back if there are any further issues. Thanks!
Sounds like your watch was super busy . If I am having trouble connecting I reboot both Laptop and watch . It has been pretty good recently . I have not used the " Revoke debugging authorisation " that @jason.clarke.uk mentioned since 1.6.10 . But these things take the Errors out for sure . I have a little routine I follow .
I Toggle the Connection to WIFI in connections .
when it is connected go down to Developer options .
If ADB is still switched on as it usually is these days .
I Toggle that as well . So I have to confirm its use .
I Open Wireless debugging and tap the switch .
The switch does not go blue straight away .
At this stage I hit the Run on device switch on WFS .
Then I go back and Tap the Wireless switch and it goes Blue then .
If it passes the AOD test it opens the Window that will show the connection to the watch .
I sometimes have to wait 15 or 20 seconds for the Watch to come up on the Display and click on it for a Successful transfer .
Obviously if that does not work I have to go through the Pairing process which you know about . In that case the Chronology of the events is dictated by the process .
These days I have a fail I in 6 or so . When I am doing successive Syncs it is flawless .
Maybe you can help, I am new to watch face studio. I have followed all the steps in the article as well as others listed in this post and cannot get the studio to connect to my watch. I am using the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
