ultra realistic watch face design what programs do you use
I use a CAD Package and the On Board Rendering but it does not cover everything . I know people that are using Paint.Net I know some guys us Powerpoint to make really great graphics . It really depends what you mean by Ultra Realistic . Show us a Picture .
I use Adobe Illustrator for shape building and Adobe Photoshop for shading, beveling, gradients etc, to give realistic look.
Works for me.
Certaily Does . Nice work @MergeLabs .
I prefer using free software like https://inkscape.org or https://figma.com for designing dials/watch hands and also using https://photopea.com or https://gimp.org if that designs need retouching.
As Russell knows I mainly design on my iPad Pro. I use Artstudio Pro and for the realism I often 3D model with Nomad.
That is an x-ray render of my last project.
Did you just say “PowerPoint”??
This was posted on one of the other forums by a Maker we all know . I do not use it myself ( PowerPoint ) . But I have seen that many Do .
.
Oh wow, I never knew about the abilities of PowerPoint.
I had a square digital display where the Nomos style power display is but it didn’t feel right. All the discs are very deliberately placed. Asymmetrical harmony with the golden ratio.
It is very difficult if not impossible to achieve this quality from scratch in programs like photoshop or illustrator, so I would like to know what kind of rendering engine you use and what other programs you use, especially if you use 3d programs. thank you for all your messages
I use Rhino5 and its basic Rendering . I was given it after I Retired by my Old Boss . I know some use Blender . I guess you are after what some call Direct Lighting . I tend to shy away from recomending these as it Presumes you can draw what you want in 3D . Most can not do that . Of course the ultimate is Solid Works . Most will not be going there .
I have had good results in Illustrator and PS. I think my results are only limited by what I know up to this point. There are really no limits to illustrator and PS if you really know what you’re doing. I still have a long way to go but I am doing ok so far.
Very nice . I reckon you are 2000 hrs in . Well that is what the works look like . When I started this game I thought , this is fun moving stuff about a small display and it has developed into a graphics thing that I was never ang good at . As long as we are Learning .
A combination of 3D rendering and then just editing in your favorite graphics app. It is time consuming and you have to know a lot about layering and masking etc.
It gets easier the more you do it.
Facer had a pretty low res, but this one for example is an example of 3D and then editing:
