Use Samsung's SOS feature

Hello,

I am currently writing an app to detect epileptic seizures. As soon as one is detected, an alarm should be raised and pre-defined contact persons informed (e.g. via SMS including GPS coordinates). This part is essentially exactly what the SOS request feature offered by Samsung does.
So my obvious question is: Can one trigger/use the SOS request from Samsung directly through some API? (I checked and sadly did not find any information on that.)
This would save me quite some work of writing an Android companion app

Ok, so I directly contacted the developer support and – so far – the SOS Emergency API is not open to any 3rd party developers…

I think Samsung phones will allow you to set it up so that it can send a picture / audio recording to a trusted contact. I’ve never found a reason to set it up, but it shows up when I hold down the power button to turn off the phone.
