“WAS API not found” Error When Installing Beta Test App on Samsung TV

We have developed a Tizen web app for Samsung Smart Signage (display panels).
The app builds successfully, and it also runs fine on the emulator and the TV when launched via “Run as → Tizen Web Application” from Tizen Studio.

We also passed Beta Test approval on Seller Office and received activation codes.

However, when we try to install the beta app on a real Samsung TV using the activation code, installation starts but fails with this message:

“WAS API not found.”

We would like to understand what causes this error. Could it be related to one of the following:

  • TV region settings (our device is not set to the US region)

  • Tizen platform version mismatch (our config.xml uses required_version="2.3", while the TV is tv-6.0)

  • Missing privileges or metadata in config.xml

Any guidance on how to properly resolve this error or debug it directly on the TV would be greatly appreciated.
