Where to include cover letter in application

Hey everyone,

hopefully I can join you as a fellow theme designer soon! :blush: I’ve prepared my designs, assembled them into a single PDF, and now I’m confused where the optional cover letter should be going. Which is the expected way to submit it?

  1. cover_letter.pdf + designs.pdf
  2. everything_in_a_single_file.pdf
  3. everything_in_a_single.zip

I’ve waited so long for the submission window to open, I don’t want to mess it up. :slight_smile: Any other recommendations you have for what I should or should not be including in my application would be much appreciated!

They still reference Tony Morelan’s blog on how to submit an application for Themes

If you haven’t read it be sure to read it. Generally a cover letter is the first thing in a portfolio telling a very brief background and references.

Cover Letter

Submitting a cover letter with your application is not required, but it definitely helps. We would love to learn more about you as a designer. Tell us why you want to design Galaxy Themes and sell them to the world. Tell us something interesting about yourself. Share links to other design projects or portfolios. Samsung is looking for great designers to sell their themes on Galaxy Store. Don’t say you only want to learn the software or just create themes for yourself.

Hey @r.liechty_SDR,

thanks for your reply! I’m not asking whether I should be including a cover letter but how I should include it. Everything into the same PDF together with the designs? Multiple PDFs? See my listing of options 1., 2. and 3. in my initial post.

Tony’s blog post doesn’t cover this.

In case anyone else stumbles across this: For lack of better guidance I submitted a cover_letter.pdf with a slide-deck of my past work and experience, and a separate design_portfolio.pdf with the 3*6 screens.

I don’t think it matters as long as the Theme Designs are in one .pdf file

  • Please complete and submit three themed design drafts (6 sheets per type, a total of 18 sheets) in one PDF file

I think you did it right.
