I have an image of a battery icon and a text field next to it with the battery tag ([BATT_PER]). I have found this is very inconsistent in displaying the actual watch battery percentage. It tends to either be accurate or revert to “100”. Sometimes this happens when I enter the customization screen on the watch. The only way I’ve found to fix it is to change watch faces and then change back. Is this a known issue with using this text tag?
So it seems the main issue is when I enter the watch face editor on the watch. That sets the value to 100 and it doesn’t update unless I switch watch faces and switch back. I can’t figure out why this is but it is a pretty big limitation. Not something I want to try and explain to anybody who installs this watch face.
Could you please share the problem in more details? Sorry, I don’t get the issue clearly. If possible, please share images to describe the issue.
Sorry, I will try to explain it better. I can’t share images of the process because I can’t take a screenshot during some of the operations. But it is a simple text field with the [BATT_PER] tag, so it displays the current battery percentage of the watch. If I long press on the screen to enter the watch face editor, to change color theme or custom complication, when I go back to my watch face the text field now displays “100” and stops providing the current battery percentage. The only way to make it work again is to switch watch faces and then switch back. Other people testing my watch face have not had this problem, so I don’t know if it is unique to the Pixel Watch 2 or just my installation.
I am having the same problem and there are reviews on the Google Play Store that stated that the battery field is not updating. I do have a PW2 and a PW3
That’s really frustrating! Fortunately my app is still in closed testing so the issue isn’t affecting my ratings or sales.
It seems this issue is only on the Pixel Watch. You may create a support request at https://developer.samsung.com/dashboard/support/general
I received some reports too regarding battery not accurate in pixel watches.
This is fixed now on my Pixel Watch 2 after receiving the Wear OS 5 update. I am still testing on other PW 2 to see if the issue was isolated to my device or maybe an issue with PW 2 and Wear OS 4.
Thank you for updating us. I appreciate it.
