I created a watchface in GalaxyWatchStudio, but I have no way of testing it on a watch, because what I have is a galaxy watch 4 with wearOS and not TizenOS…will I still be able to create a tpk file ??
Is it necessary, first test on a watch with tizenOS and only then create this .tpk file?
To build you do need a Distributor Certificate as well as an Author Certificate. The Author Certificate does not require you to have a watch… The Distributor Certificate does require you to have a DUID for whatever watch you want to run it on. You can type in 1234 for the DUID and it will generate a Distributor Certificate for you to build.
But this is pretty moot. You can’t upload a watch to the Galaxy Store without being a watch seller partner and you cannot run on Device unless there you have that specific device’s DUID.
So if you are trying to create a watch face for someone that has a Galaxy Watch3 or older you will need to connect to their watch to install it.

What is DUID?
WHERE I TYPE 1234 IN DUID?
Device Unique ID every single device has a unique one.
When you create the Distributor Certificate it asks you either to enter the DUID or connect to a watch (so it is automatically added). You can put any number and most characters in there and it will generate a Distributor certificate.
But that certificate has to match the watch it is being installed on or it won’t install.
Still you can build a .tpk file that way for Runtime Lab Testing or if you have Tizen Studio for the Emulator you can use their DUID to run on the emulator.
