It looks like today have a companion app for every watch face is not so mandatory at it was once.
Actually I have to update everyone to target API level 34 while I’m on 33 for the most of them.
There is a way to opt-out from smartphone app?

Why do you say it’s not needed as it once was? What has changed? Can people actually find our watch faces on Google Play without one now?
For Wear OS application yes.
I’m also experimenting with watch face now, but since my first stand alone watch face is out since few hours I dont know.
That would be sweet. Please give us more details when you can. I’m just starting to get back into creating watch-faces, and creating a companion app was on my to do list.
