Critical Issue: Galaxy S23/S23 Ultra PIN Lock Screen Missing

Dear Samsung Support Team,

We are the development team behind the Lock My Phone app, led by Thomas Kahn.
You can find more information about our app here: Lock My Phone
We would like to report a critical issue affecting multiple users of the Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Ultra.

Several users of our app have encountered a situation where the PIN lock screen fails to appear, rendering the device unusable until it is forcefully restarted.

It appears that the PIN code lock screen is crashing or failing to display properly, leaving users unable to unlock their devices. According to multiple user reports, the keypad disappears entirely, showing only a blurred background and the lock icon. Some users also described that tapping the screen produces vibration feedback, as if the device is receiving input, but the keypad or PIN entry UI never appears.

This behavior occurs after multiple unlock attempts or when leaving the app in sleep mode for one to two hours.

Details:

  • Device Models: Samsung Galaxy S23, S23 Ultra
  • Issue: PIN keypad disappears, leaving only the blurred background and lock icon
  • Steps to Reproduce: Multiple unlock attempts via power button or notification tap
  • Temporary Workaround: Force restart (Power + Volume Down for 10 seconds)

Our investigation confirms that this issue is unrelated to the behavior of third-party apps, as our app only triggers system unlock requests and does not modify the system lock screen UI.

We would appreciate your assistance in investigating and resolving this problem. If you require logs or further reproduction details, please let us know — we are happy to provide support.

Thank you for your attention and support.

Best regards,
Mohammed Alsudani
