Is it possible that touching one text button can change the function displayed in another? For example: touch button labelled ‘Date’ displays today’s date in another button/window. I would also like to cycle the function of the button. For example, touch it again and I would like the button to display say ‘steps’ and display the step count in the other window.
You can do that but you can’t do that 
You can have several images that reveal or hide items so holes in the mask to reveal items. Using tap to change image. Then when you tap, it changes to a new image with holes elsewhere.
But you can’t have one button affect the placement of another button.
