Support for new top level domains e-mail accounts

Please see attached, I currently am unable to register our support e-mail address in the Samsung Smart TV Seller Office when submitting a new app for review. See attached screenshot. Can you add support for the .events domain, please?

I’ll see if there is a way to submit a request for this. Did you contact the seller office? If not please do that.

Hi Ron, thanks for your reply. Let me know how to contact the seller office - I have no contact details and neither can I find them on the website… Best regards, Angelo.

The Smart TV support and seller office is different from Galaxy Store and I can’t see specifically how to do it. You can get information on opening a support request https://developer.samsung.com/SmartTV/develop/distribute/seller-office/support/11-qa.html

also I noticed that FAQ 29 deals with changing the email account I don’t know if you can do that or not

Hi Angelo,

My apology for the delay in replying. The form is limited to 4 character extension.

Hi Ron,

I know the form is limited to 4 character extensions of the domain name - this is exactly the problem.

So in short, Samsung does NOT support the ICANN/IANA generic top-level domains (see here for a full list: https://www.iana.org/ )? The official full root zone database can be found here: https://www.iana.org/domains/root/db

And as you can see, today there are many Generic top-level domains (gTLDs) containing way more than 4 characters. This means that this form is not compliant with current industry standards. And as a result of this any (partner) company using a Top Level Domain with over 4 characters will not be able to register with Samsung as a partner or submit an app to the Samsung app store(s). So, how do you suggest we continue? I obviously don’t want to end up putting up a note on our own support website stating that we currently can not support Samsung devices due to non-standard Top Level Domain implementation issues on the Samsung partner website… IMHO fixing the form(s) on the Samsung TV Seller Office is what needs to happen. Let me know your thoughts on how to proceed (and/or if you need further information - glad to help out in order to get this fixed)!

Best regards, Angelo.

I would suggest you create an acceptable e-mail account. Then redirect that account to your .events account or have add that second account to your mail reader program.

I’ve requested that they request the form be updated.
