Unable to connect to developer mode of Samsung Smart TV

Hi,

I have followed all the steps, and read several other posts and tried to troubleshoot the issue extensively, but I’m not able to connect to the developer mode of the Samsung Smart TV 2025.

  • Developer mode is turned on and the host IP is set correctly.

  • On the API endpoint, it’s confirmed that developer mode and the IP is correctly configured.

  • I am able to ping the Samsung Smart TV IP address.

  • However, auto scan for Remote Devices does not show any devices.
  • If I enter the device IP address manually, then I get the error

  • Please note, there is no firewall or any network blocks. The TV is connected to a wired device and my Host is also connected via wired device. There is no WIFI.

  • Further, I can also see that the port 26101 is actually CLOSED on the TV. Why is this the case??

To me it appears the device is not listening on the port and that’s why the scan is also not working. This is further evidenced by the fact that I ran a packet capture when connecting and the smart TV immediately rejects with RST flag. Can you please help me troubleshoot this?

Please let me know if someone has feedback on this.

Hello,
For Smart TV questions, please log in to TV Seller Office: (https://seller.samsungapps.com/tv), go to the 1:1 Q&A section, and ask a question.

You can also find the local content manager.

Your Samsung Content Manager helps you manage various application development and distribution scenarios, such as permission to use partner-level privileges, removing application versions from distribution, and publishing an application in multiple countries or outside of the United States.

To request the contact information for your local Content Manager, you can request this information through the “1:1 Q&A > …” menu.

I have this same problem. Brand new 2025 model QN73. Set it to developer mode, cannot be detected. Scan which ports are open - several, including 8080 and 15500, but not the default 26101 I need to connect to with Tizen Studio or similar software. Attempting to use any of the open ports fails.

Everything is set up as it should be - Developer mode on, IP address of PC entered correctly, TV restarted and showing correctly when calling the API, etc. etc.

I have the same problem. I have a 2025 TV and I can’t connect to it via Tizen Studio. I tried to contact support via 1:1 QA - the advice and answers are template: check the IP address, check if the dev modem is enabled, do a factor reset of the TV, reinstall Tizen Studio. Nothing helped…

Happy to report that due to NO HELP from Samsung, I have resolved the issue. I had to ensure that I power cycle the TV completely. After removing the cable and plugging it back in after 1 minute, the TV stated listening on port 26101 and it worked.

I seams that Samsung released an update for 2025 models and now debug mode is working. Today I have double checked the issue and I can confirm that I able to connect to 2025 TV and install an application remotely from PC.

I also want to advise using VS Code with the extension “Tizen extension” installed. Because Tizen Studio constantly throws an error when trying to package an application or when trying to install .wgt fight.
