WFS 1.4.20 - Ranged Value Complication BUG

Hi amoledwatchfaces, could you tell me which app you used to record watch screen?

Hi.

I’m using adb

Start recording

adb shell ā€œscreenrecord /sdcard/screenrecord.mp4ā€

Stop recording

press Ctrl + C on keyboard and confirm with ā€˜Y’

Pull video from watch and remove it from watch sdcard

adb pull /sdcard/screenrecord.mp4
adb shell ā€œrm /sdcard/screenrecord.mp4ā€

Woa, thanks so much!

I believe this is resolved in an upcoming update. However, I don’t have any ideas when that will be released.

Yes, it was mentioned in the support request reply. Hopefully they’ll release new version soon.

I’m using Ranged Value complication in multiple watch faces and this prevents me from publishing updates. Every other user uses S Health steps goal complication to see progress of the goal. I can’t let them getting watch face force closes.

Wish there was some alpha testing whatever version, but still, great work from WFS dev team.

Anyone with a Galaxy Watch6 to test if by any chance the problem was solved?

Received this reply from support

But can’t confirm this on Wear OS 3.5. Issue is still there.

@amoledwatchfaces

Yes, it has been fixed.

Look at this screenshot, on the left side, I’ve used the RANGED VALUE complication.

Goals are set at 8000 steps on S-Health.

Thanks for reporting Matteo! Really appreciated

Looks like Samsung engineers capped RV value to not go over steps goal. It’s 50% fix as there may be other custom complications with values higher than max (for example other exercise oriented apps). Hard to say it it’s really ā€˜unfixable’ in the WFS.

That is what I see on my GW4 watch the step count in the Range Value stops shortly before the goal. A tag and the SHealth does show the true count.

Ron

Yes, but people obviously want to see correct steps count value in custom complication. In an attempt to fix this, S Health devs screwed it totally. They should have only limit ranged value, not text value. Now the complication is completely unusable.

In Wear OS 4, Galaxy Watch 6, it works OK. Green Shoe Icon, however, is still missing. It would be great to have someone from Samsung Health development team here so he can listen to the feedback.

3 things are currently needed.

  1. Final Samsung Health update for older watch models (Galaxy Watch 4 / Watch 5) with the complication services changes from Galaxy Watch 6.
  2. Green Shoe Icon, not crucial, but when it’s showing in the complication preview, it would be great to actually have it.
  3. WFS update to fix ranged value, min, max behavior. (This I’m communicating with the support so hopefully they’ll be able to solve it.

There are also other things related to other apps like Samsung Weather.

Samsung has announced that GW4 and GW5 would be updated to include IHRM. I assume they will be updated to One UI 5 also.

I did report this and a few weeks ago and got the response, they didn’t include any icons that were ā€œoptionalā€ but they will include them all in the next Samsung Health Update. I now have a contact to communicate with directly.
Samsung’s mobile developers do not follow this board to prevent any potential dispute or misunderstanding as to the similarity between Unsolicited Submissions and our internally and independently developed products, technology and services.

I wish there was a way to contact the Samsung Weather team, to address the issue with their complication woes, with WearOS 4…

Can you bring this up in a new topic. Detail the issues, I know they are elsewhere but in many different threads.

BTW I am hoping that the issues is just the complications was written for an older API and need to be updated. I think that is required by the end of August. But lets get this on one topic

Thanks
Ron

Watch Face Format Issue… needs to be forwarded to Google.

Fixed with WFS 1.5.7 Beta

There is still bug with the corners on progress bar. On first complication is range set to 0-360 - there is OK, but on next two is bug, when range is smaller than 0-270, not shows correctly

Sorry for english

Hi. Yes, it only affects preview in WFS so it’s not that much of an issue. Anyway, it has been already reported so WFS team knows about it :slightly_smiling_face:

Tomas

Bug is on Watch too. Not only on WFS preview

Can’t replicate. Can you send some screenshots?

I have tested.
Hm, my mistake. I have some problem on my watchface. Bars are OK
