Wfs not connecting to device

Hello,

wfs is not connecting to my device.
wfs 1.7.13
device w6 cl (I got the new update)

I reset the device, uninstalled and reinstalled wfs, reset the modem a few times.

the device connected without any problems before, why is it not connecting now? Has anyone experienced this problem before and know the solution?

I have the same. I can pair and use my Fossil Gen6 but not my GW6 that I updated to WO5 before attempting Wifi debug pair. I have also tried a post upgrade factory reset.

Maybe its wos 5 issues?

How about try adb to connect.
If still cannot connect could be watch.

Seem like a new issue since it work when gw6 was wos4

It will not even pair the device for me. I have not tried ADB command line as I am pretty certain that is all WFS runs in the background anyway.
I put in all of the correct numbers according to instructions. The ones that work fine on my Fossil watch (WOS4).
Gone through multiple topics here.
I have tried multiple Wifi networks too.

On the GW6 WOS5 I always get:

Oh Dear . @Bodestone . Did the IP address change ? I always toggle the ADB switch on my Watch . Then go and do the same with the Wireless debugging switch . Sometimes I have to press the Wireless button again after 10 seconds . I have no other switches set in debugging . I only have to go through Paring now and again . It Usualy takes 15 seconds to establish a connection n .then I can Run on Device from WFS . I am on the latest .

I will try connecting with adb tonight but the problem seems to be the wear os 5 update for gw6 cl. The icon does not change in the weather complication when it is evening. On a clear evening, the temperature value is correct in the complication but the sun icon still appears.

Hopefully we will get another update soon.

I go back from pairing and no IP change. Wireless stays active throughout. Tested with old phone as hotspot so could see watch as connected device.
It just will not initially pair.
From other reading others have the same issue on GW6 for previously unpaired before upgrade and some that will not reconnect or repair after upgrade when it worked before, as above

Seem like update issue? Try command line.
Wfs? Or watch issue?.

Its does work in the background but somehow direct command line works better…and the error from output is more detailed.

Property maybe wfs does prechecks before calling adb…so no harm giving it a shot.

My point is there are case wfs doesnt work. But with adb command the whole think works

neither of the connection options works… but then a pop out appears re. 'allowing windows check my current location etc… selected “YES” and that solved the issue for me.

Thing that what blocking the network

Looks like this was solved? Just happened across this comment and thought I’d tell my own experience.

I figured as you did that the WFS software must just trigger the adb commands from the dialog that comes up, but I could not get that to work so I tried command line adb commands to pair and connect. That worked first time and is still working.

Turned out to have an unexpected benefit. I wanted the name of a package so I could trigger it with a tap on my watch face and another adb command dumped all the package names, including the one I wanted.

If it comes to that and you are running Windows, I suggest using Powershell instead of cmd. Powershell remembers past input even after closing so all you have to do to get your watch paired again is hit the up arrow to the line for changing to the tools directory, hit the up arrow and change the port number you used last time and your all set.
