Example hunter x hunter characters
If they are characters from copyright content then you probably would not be able to use them, even if you designed them to be similar. It would be the same as using Spiderman or Batman representations.
Although I did see one seller using the outline of the main character from the Netflix show Wednesday, and using “Wednesaday” in the name so maybe it’s OK in some forms?

It is possible only when there is a copyright consultation with the original author.
