Sorry if this is a silly question –
Can I design a face in GWS WearOS and just load it onto only my watch for my use only and not then need Author / Distributor etc stuff?
I only use the watch design for my own watch. I do not want to distribute, publish, sell etc it. It is solely for my own use and only on my watch.
I have a Galaxy Watch (10B0) which I used Galaxy Watch Designer Tizen to create a face for. Worked well for years. I changed phone and I cannot now load the design onto watch because I don’t have a Distributor Certificate and GWD fails at this point. Digging, I think it is because Samsung have given up with Tizen some time back and it is no longer supported.
I am getting a Galaxy Watch 7 so will use Galaxy Watch Studio WearOS. Not sure why Samsung decided name the Tizen and then the WearOS design programs the same.
Can I design a watch face using Galaxy Watch Studio WearOS and be able to load it onto my watch without having to do all the Author & Distributor registration etc?
I have spent the last few days reading through every guide I can find on it and I am not any wiser.
Many thanks.
Ian
Welcome! I’m reasonably new here so I may be wrong about this, but I don’t think there is a product called:
However, you can download and use Watch Face Studio to design watch faces and then run them on your Wear OS watch. Once you have the watch face designed how you like it, use the “Run on device” button to start the process of pushing the face to your watch:

Short answer: yes.
But you’ll have to make watchfaces from scratch. Old ones, made for Tizen OS, will not be compatible.

That’s OK it is only for my own use so I dont mind having to learn how to do it again in WearOS.
Thanks. Ian

BloodDragon - I was confused in that the Tizen version was called Galaxy Watch Designer then when the WearOS came out that was Galaxy Watch Face Studio and Samsung renamed GWD to Galaxy Watch Studio. Thanks Ian
It is difficult to get a Face from GWD / GWS it can be done . It is a round the houses process . It has bee outlined a few times . I would do ykrself a Favour and go to Facer and use thier Creator . it is Different but your Tizen is supported there . Ther are no issues Syncing Face to a Tizen Watch .
