Complications not showing in Wearable App

Version 6.26.0.063 is available in Play Store, and I’ve got a Mobile Samsung A40.

I’ve just updated the Samsung Health app to 6.26.0.063 via the Play Store, on my Galaxy S23 Ultra, but it hasn’t made any difference to the available complications in the Wearables app on my phone.

Specifically, when I use the Wearables app to “Customise” the complications on the watch face I created using WFS - on my Watch6 Classic - it still only shows a small handful (no more than seven) complications there, instead of showing the full range of complications that were previously available before the bug was introduced via the Wearables app.

However: I’m not sure why we’re asking about the version of Samsung Health here. Because according to the answers provided earlier in this thread, the bug will be fixed by an update to the Wearables app, not the Samsung Health app. And the Wearables app still does not have a fixed update available yet for the Watch6, which I presume is why it’s still not working with my watch.

I am told that the problem is in the companion app API by Google. With Watch 4 and Watch 5 the wearable app uses a Galaxy Watch(4 or 5) Manager plugin that loads and unloads when connected to the Watch but for Galaxy Watch6 Manager is a companion app.

Yeah, I know it’s with a companion app or plugin to the Wearables app. But my point here is that it’s nothing to do with the Samsung Health app - so why are we discussing whether we have the latest version of the Health app?

while my complications came back, the app is still buggy. even on factory installed watch faces, the app crashes when trying to change colors or comps.

Hi, very true. Laggy at times

So this has been going on for over a month?

I got myself a watch 6 to upgrade from my watch 5. None of the complications on any 3rd party faces work. Also, complications on my watch 5 no longer work now. I reset the watch, cleared data, uninstalled the Galaxy wearable app… Nothing.

This thread mentions 2.2.57.xxxx breaking this. So I uninstalled AGAIN. Reset my watch AGAIN. Downloaded 2.2.56.xxxx from APK mirror and my issue is fixed.

I just need to turn off auto updates in Google play.

Hi, change complication on the watch, do not use app mean time

2 months, if not longer. 2 months of explaining users why Galaxy Wearable app is not showing them all custom complication options… Some customers even marked me as a scammer because of this.
All this just because we need to wait 2 months for some quick app update…

Not a developer, but since the update I have noticed the only available compilation in the Samsung Wear app is Samsung Health items:

Yet if I do customize from my Galaxy Watch 6 (touch the current clock face, holding for a few seconds) and using customize there I can acess the other options like basic, exercise, complication suit, etc.

But it is a real inconvenient pain to do so from the watch.

@kevhod91 what version of the samsung wearable app are you on?

I think there were three updates, first update made all the complication disappear , 2nd update made only health complication fixed / appeared. Finally the last update returned all the complication to the app, guess u havnt gotten the last update.

Tbh i find customization on the watch easier, because its direct and faster , compare to waiting for the wearable to load (always waiting to sync) when i select a watch face in the app.

As @Knightwing said the complications have always worked when accessed on the watch. It was trying to set them with the Wearable app that didn’t work.

To Clarify a bit
There was an update to the Wearable App that made all the old complications disappear because there was an update to the Wear Companion SDK that had a bug in it.

There was an update to Samsung Health that added some newer versions of the Health complications to appear.

There was an update for the Galaxy Watch5 manager that allows all complications to appear I believe some Galaxy Watch4 managers are updated too.

Galaxy Watch 6 manager is not a plugin but a separate app and the fix for that is under testing and expected to be released this month if all goes well.

At first I thought customizing on the watch was a pain but as @Knightwing said it isn’t that hard once you get used to it and a bit faster.

Unfortunately, latest GW6 Plugin fixes are still not working. Complication selection is still not showing properly. It’s really disappointing because GW6 is a latest watch model.

Hopefully this is not considered “working state” and Plugin won’t receive another “fixed the error” update in 2 months.

When can we expect a fix for this?

Nothing is certain and release dates vary by country and models, and so on. But I think the best guess is soon.

I have bought mostly only your watch faces(thank you) and I understand this issue is annoying af and not your fault. As of recently with my GW6 I have had the complication problem. If I reset my watch, the full list of complications come back and if I add them to a certain face, I can keep accessing them. If I wait like8 hours and try it on any other watch face it will only let me use the basic Samsung health ones… the ones that work anyway. Sorry you are having to deal with such a silly issue my dude.

@kaseym

I thank you for your patience and understanding.

If you use the watch itself for the customization it will work. Not to shift blame but the issue was with Wear companion app SDK. I’m hopeful this will finally be fixed within the next week or so but updates are not all done at once it depends on model and country and other things.

Oh for sure Ron. I tried changing it from the watch and I feel I like that better anyway. Thank you for keeping all up to date as I know being a relations manager can be incredibly frustrating

Updates are rolling out so all complications will show in the wearable app. If they aren’t by Monday Jan 29, 2024 please post here country and watch model.
