[FIXED] [HID] After Android 13 update, external touch screen not work

Model: Galaxy S21 (SM-G9910)

OS: OneUI 5.0

We are producing Type-C external display, and noticed that after upgrading to Android 13 (OneUI 5.0), the HID touchscreen stopped working correctly under Smart View, but not inside DeX.

How to reproduce:

  1. Find an external display with touch capability, like anyone from this list: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Type-C+external+display+touch
  2. Inside Settings->More Connection Settings->HDMI Mode, select “Screen Mirroring”.
  3. Connect the display to a Galaxy S running Android 13 (the model we are testing is S21 5G) using a Type-C 5Gbps cable.
  4. Notice that the display is now handled by Smart View, and try to touch the active area.

When the finger is pressing the left bottom corner of the active area, the pointer has an offset to the right part of the screen:

Press the left top corner of the active area resulting in the pointer being in the middle of the top of the screen:

Press the right part of the active area resulting in no response.
This bug isn’t present under DeX or OneUI 4, so we believe the problem is on the OS side.

This is not the right forum for reporting bugs or issues.

You can open a Developer Support request and they can route it to the right team.

We have a new feature Bugs and Issue reporting channel. I’m not to knowledgeable on it as it just started but you can look to see if you can report this there.

You can also report it in the members app from your device

Hi! I have the same issue with an external USB-C display with touch screen: touch is OK in DeX, but is the same in screen mirroring mode :frowning_face:
I could not find if there’re any plans to fix this
