I notice that Google have introduced a new process when submitting an app around data safety and privacy policies.
If we create our watchfaces using WFS, is there any guidance Samsung can provide on how to answer the Google questionnaire?
My initial thought is that a watchface created with WFS will not collect or share any data - the user would have to use something like Samsung Health to do this. Is that a valid position to take?
I guess I was hoping for a little more assistance from Samsung.
Members of this community are typically designers rather than app builders.
Watch Face Studio builds the apps from our designs.
Given the above, would it not be possible for Samsung to provide at a template privacy policy or at least a statement about what data is collected by whom, if any, for apps created via the Watch Face Studio tool to help designers satisfy this Google requirement?
First off this is new requirement by Play Store.
Watch Face Studio does not collect any information that I’m aware of. I’ll check and make sure but it just opens apps.
I also ran into this situation, since I do not quite understand whether the watch face created in Watchface Studio collects information and transfers it to third parties, I understand that the dial is needed not for collecting, but for displaying information, but I do not write the application code and I don’t know whether the watchface application sends information to third parties (servers) for processing or not, and I have a question for the developers of Watchface Studio, how to correctly draw up a document with a Privacy Policy, what information should be specified there, since the slightest inaccuracy may entail legal responsibility. Thank you very much for the answer.
Hello, Ron, thank you for answer, I understood that Watch Face Studio as software for creating watch faces does not collect any information or even it is, i agree with this, but my question was about watch faces maded dy Watch face Studio, does watch face as application, collect any information and sending it to a third persons with encryption or without. Because Play Market in Google Console asking information not about Watch face studio or Android studio, but they asking about my application. Or, maybe, we do not understand each other right
The watch faces created with Watch Face Studio does not (and cannot) send any information to a third party not even to the Wearable app.
I think what you are thinking of is say for example you opened a fitness app from your watch face and it does share information about workouts to friends. In that case it is not your watch face but the fitness app sharing information and up to the fitness app to publish it.
