Latest WatchFace Studio 1.1.9 WearOS Status and Supported devices in the catalog Problem!

I put in the effort, as it doesn’t pay me to work on watch faces at the moment

A video that shows play console bug/error:

.
A video that shows how this should work / was working fine before 24 Feb. I created a new developer account just to verify it:

I can confirm that this issue is with the Google Play Console system and not the WFS, because I have the same problem and my project was built in Android Studio.
I have also opened a ticket to google support but without special expectations.
Maybe by chance, there is news from someone here who communicates with Google?
or maybe there is some special workaround that somebody found?
This problem is very frustrating…

I have the same problem . Maybe someone solved this problem?

I got the same status and already active upon rolling out for review. It’s probably a bug in the console. I’m not sure if this is affecting the device compatibility but for me users are able to download my watch face with this kind of status. However it needs fixing.

Is your watch face visible in the Play Store app? Users with GW4 can download but only through web version of Play Store. Selecting watch + watch face filter wont help.

Yes it’s visible with the default filter “This device” however not showing with “Watch” filter and I have to go to the brand page and it’s there also. I just downloaded the Ballozi Levar from Play Store app to test it along with this status in the console. This WF was published March 13 btw.

You can see it because you’re using companion app. There’s no install menu to pick watch as install device. Means, users will be not able to download & complain why. That’s what happened to me like month ago. No solution.

Edit: Currently only GW4 users are able to download and only through web version of play store - as discussed above

It means laying a company on the ground. I am appalled by Google’s scandalous technical support that has not yet resolved this serious and critical issue after more than a month.

In my last ticket, I got an automated response again,

Thanks for contacting Google Play Developer Support and for bringing this issue to our attention.

I have escalated this issue to our engineering team and noted your specific connection to this issue. While I do not currently have a timeline for this issue to be resolved, I can assure you we will take it into consideration as we continue to roll out new improvements to Play Console.

Please continue bringing any issues you experience in the Play Console to our attention. We appreciate your understanding and support.

If you have any other questions, please let me know, and I’ll be happy to help.

So I played the vulgar and explained it quite simply - “My application has been approved but cannot be downloaded”, response:

Thanks again for contacting Google Play Developer Support about issue…

I’m happy to dig into your issue, but to help me investigate I’ll need as much of the following information as you have:

  • Device screenshot of the issue (these are really helpful!)
  • Web screenshot of the issue
  • What steps did you take to reproduce this issue?

You can also respond to this email with any other information you think might help.

I sent them two screenshots, one showing that the application was approved for Wear OS in the Play Store and the other showing that the application could not be searched. I used to send them as much info as possible in 30 messages, but unfortunately, unsuccessfully, I don’t know what else could help when even a video is not enough.

Response:

Thanks for your response.

Let’s wait for our team to finish fixing the first reported issue since your device catalog show that is still pending for a review. Once done we can investigate the issue further.

We really apologize for the delay this may cause on your side. Thank you for your understanding and patience on the process!

If you have any other questions, please let me know, and I’ll be happy to help.

I 100% believe that no one is solving this bug in the Play Console at the moment. At first there were maybe 3 of us with this error, but I see that more and more developers are joining. At such a pace, no wear application will be added to Play Store in a month

I have no words. I would not have expected such poor and useless technical support from Google, especially for really serious issues like this.

Despite of all these issues, still Samsung doesn’t allow people to upload watch faces on Galaxy Store which is so weird, when they allow Android Apps to be uploaded there, when people can do same on Playstore so why such special rules for WearOS ? I really don’t like how playstore work with WearOS may be they doing it so people buy their new watch and they fix issues with it only.

We really need Samsung to step up and get our work back on the Galaxy Store, even if it is WearOS. It is just better for us and especially for the users. You cannot release a great product line up and then outsource the software and expect professional results.

I submitted a watchface 20 minutes ago and with me everything is as always!?

it’s back to working fine you mean?

I tried it as soon as I saw the message. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work for me. It’s still Immediately “ACTIVE”. You can try it with some test package - already did it like three times while testing multiple self made solutions

Everything is OK with me.

May be you are lucky one, chosen by Google :joy: just kidding but it aint working for me :frowning:

I also contacted the Android Wear team, The answer was:

“Unfortunately I’m not able to comment on your request.”

In my case, the watch app can not be downloaded from anywhere from either the browser or the store.

I’m so frustrated with all this attitude towards developers,
This uncertainty is so much not acceptable from a company like Google.
So many bugs at the level of novice developers and poor system design, how exactly are they talking about developing an autonomous car?! LOL.

Looks like they fixed it.
