New watch face

Started this on Facer. Went back to do some edits and it won’t load. Far as I can tell it’s a server issue. Last time this happened things eventually came back.

Meanwhile I went to Watch Face Studio and made it in there. Pretty much have to if I want this face on my Galaxy 7. Turns out the hour arc is easier to do in Studio than on Facer.

Still have not felt like moving up from the 0-7 moon phase tag to a full 28 or so days one.

If you wanted to have a go at a 28 phase moon here are some images zipped up . Just the white bit . See I have set hem as 0 for New Moon that works well with MOON_PO . Included a nice picture of the moon that makes nice filter . A bit of work but once you have done it you have a template .

Very kind of you. I had a look at the .wfs file you provided previously and just wimped out.

I’ve certainly got it saved where I can find it again. I’ll download this file and your description above as well.

Thanks.

I am glad you got the .wfs . it is wonderful to be able to post them . Speeds up the Learning .

btw. where does the hand point between 12 and 1h?

It’s what I believe they call a retrograde movement.

The hand clicks back to 1 at 0100 and 1300. You can check it out here and hit the arrow and then double arrow ( depending on your time of day ) and watch it switch.

I’m really happy with the Mickey Mouse by Gerald Genta that uses this for the minute hand. Let me drop the .wfs file here. As always, change the .zip to .wfs. Should open for you.

Seems my original reply is being reviewed. Probably because I dropped .zip file in it.

Therefore, I’ll answer again. I believe they call this a retrograde movement. The hour hand flips back to the 1 at 0100 and 1300.

The file I uploaded was a .wfs file of my Mickey Mouse by Gerald Genta.

I only asked based on the image in your first post. There it seems, when the hand reaches 12h mark, it should jump to start, but it takes 1 hour between 12 and 1. It has no point where to jump for a whole hour. So I understand now, it jumps each hour, does not move continuously.

Yes, for some watches, especially the GMT one I made, jumping only on the hour is my choice. For others of course that would be just weird.

This Steamboat Willie face Looks more like what you were expecting of that hour hand though I see I’m not using the “smooth rotation” value tag, just the “hey what minute is it?” tag.

Meanwhile I went through the russellcresser images and made this. Trying to decide about the skinny little bits of the edge. Probably keep them since I like it for the new moon. The white bits are transparent of course.

Well my reply to this is also under review. It had no files, but it did reference Facer.

A good, they both cleared customs.

Hey . Well done . I meant those images to suite the moon you showed on the face above . To have them as orange . I just isolated the whit bits form a set of half tone and white I had .

Well, it looks good, but I think I have the images I created backwards. That is, my image 0 is

Moon Phase 0

and my image 14 is

Moon Phase 14

I should have looked at the [MOON_PO] tag before I did all that work.

Also, I was using the sort of tag expression I was using for the simple 0-7 to try these out. It looks like I need to do “is between this number and that number, with decimal places” so I need to check that face you posted a while back. Makes the full moon appear correctly.

Yeah . It is really difficult to post resources on these forums . The names of the files get changed . I am sure I posted them in the right order . Let me know if you get stuck . I can post a proper ZIPPED file with the set in . Yes , the MOON_PO count starts at the New Moon as Zero .

Thanks for the offer. Don’t put yourself out in this case though.

I’ll take what I’ve got, fix the order, and check that the phases are correct. Lots of good images, just have to get them in the right order.

Ha Ha . In that Zipped File they are in the right order . I am getting confused with a Topic I have on Facer .

Oh yeah, using your art in the number order given the phases are correct. Hit the date button and referred to a moon phases by day web page. Looks good.

I pulled the tag logic out of that watch face you posted. Pretty much what I was expecting the correct version ought to be, but I didn’t have to type any of it in since I could just cut and paste.

The moon image art is mine so I obviously did it incorrectly. Had I checked the tag reference page before starting I’d have realized it. If I re-do it I’ll keep one eye on that page and one eye on your all white images.

Didn’t even think of making an orange version. As you say, easily done with your all white images.

Rotating image of moon is now correct. I just had to renumber them.

Made me suspect my Natty Boh watch face with the rotating sphere for a head might be off. It was. I had it rotating backwards. Fixed that.

Yeah looks OK . Bit Odd . Did we worked together on Facer with this Character ?

Never had a notion to put this on Facer. It’s a commercial watch face and Facer hosts a commercial face maker who did some very nice work for Tsao Baltimore. Those guys thought it might be fun to do this one on there sometime, but I decided to make a version for myself.

You sent me a rotating moon complication to try instead of my eight picture moon phase window. Looked pretty good.
