Permission Issue calling Touch Lock for Samsung Galaxy Watch (Android)

Dear Samsung Support,

we are working on a water sports app for Android phones and watches. We’ve hit a problem with the Touch Lock feature on watches. When used in water, the watch display sometimes registers unintended inputs.

We’re interested in using the Water Lock feature on Galaxy Watches, which seems perfect for this. We found the intent “com.samsung.android.clockwork.settings.ACTION_MSG_ID_ENABLE_WATER_LOCK” for this, but it requires the “com.samsung.android.clockwork.settings.permission.CHANGE_WATER_LOCK” permission. Despite adding this in our manifest and trying runtime requests, we can’t seem to get this permission.

Could you guide us on how a third-party app can enable Water Lock on an galaxy watch running an android wear os app? It’s a great fit for water sports apps.

Thanks!
Ali
