SMS permission for weather watch face?

So some of my watch faces have “SMS: read your text messages (SMS OR MMS)” permissions?
Why does it need that? I made the watch face in Galaxy Watch Studio and don’t know why it would need SMS permissions.

I think that the weather API uses it and the GDPR, US and other privacy laws require the user agree to it.
