Is it possible to bypass the complication restriction?
I know its not reccomended as it can slow down the system, but im happy to go ahead with it. I only wanted 10 or so… i guess it wouldnt matter the size of the complications either, as its really just the problem of the watch constantly updating the complications. Does anyone know how the watch updates them? I thought it updated only whenever the screen was on…

The limit of 8 is built into the watch face validation tool. You could try it, but I suspect the watch face wouldn’t build. If it did build, Google wouldn’t approve it, but that may not matter to you.
I wont be publishing this watch face on the play store. Is it possible to bypass the validation in studio? And how likely is it that the watch itself will reject it?

If you were planning to use complications to display info that is available in tags/expressions (date, steps, weather, etc), you don’t have to use complications for those. That would cut down on the number of complications you want.
Unfortunately, no. The majority of the datasets ill be using are third party and hence don’t have tags.
