Im sorry, I never been in that situation, dont have any experience and I dont know how to advice
I read @BloodDragon answer and I think it’s on-point.
I got many apps that has different names, but last 4 or 5 has exacly this same name.
So… when I made any app update I’m changing this issue about names.
Google Play often changes or pays more attention to certain issues. If they draw my attention to a certain problem, I do not try to fight the law, but gradually comply with their regulations and policies.
If its not problem, pay more attention to make this names this same in future, If you want make an update - just change it and adapt to Google Play’s policy.
Of course I want to follow best practices. There’s just so much that I dont know and I hope I don’t have to pay a heavy price for a mistake. Google doesn’t seem to have any mercy or care for “always learning”. I will make sure my apps all have the same name throughout from now on.
BTW how do you change the issue with the names? Just save a new WFS file with the exact name as your app and upload it with new version code?
Yeah,
Im changing name ID TAG in WFS, then save with new version code.
Changing name of app in Google Play Store… and change name for app in companion app.
I don’t understand the point at all that the name in the Play Store and on the smartphone should be the same, if for example one of the most downloaded applications in the store has a name on the smartphone “Spotify” and a different name in the store.
Perhaps it should start exactly the same as on the smartphone, short, and in the app store you can still add the prefix “Watch Face”!
The same situation with the app icons in the store and on the smartphone, they are not the same everywhere and no one bans applications with billions of downloads!
I don’t understand anything!
