Latest WatchFace Studio 1.1.9 WearOS Status and Supported devices in the catalog Problem!

We shared the package names with play store and hopefully they will act promptly.

I do not need any more package names

Hi,
I can find my watchfaces via google play on my phone - it says its not form my device (mobile) but there is a possibility to install on connected watches.
Can someone check how about paid watchfaces and pay via mobile (I made only free watchaces) ?

Please see this
(How to Install Wear OS™ Powered by Samsung Watch Faces | Samsung Developers) blog. Hopefully you will get your answer.

When it says other device click on the expansion arrow and that reveals your watch to select.

Hi Guys, No solution yet ? watch face still not able to download from phone and not available on playstore on watch.
Only can be seen on desktop playstore, but shows this app is not available for any of your devices.

Thank you Ron,
but I’ve got companion app with my watch faces and there is no dropdown menu

Please check in google play:

Its only INSTALL option, without any possibility to choose device.

I cant even install watch face from web browser… it says there is no device for this app:

EDIT:

OK, I think I know how this is working…
Companion app seems to be checked faster than watch face… so only companion app is checked by google team, but not watchface part of app.
I can install app, but only companion app… and watch face app isn’t visible via Chrome… I think they need one or two days more for check.

Another thing comes to my mind…
Maby we should make app without companion app, and when it will be published - add companion app, maby that will work? does it make sense?

Best,
Adrian

Hi Adrian,

I see your watch face in a category search. I’m fairly certain you are correct it takes longer to get the Watch app propagated through the system. The companion app should no longer be necessary and it still takes longer for the Watch Face to show up.

It seems that the problem has started again.

Yes, it looks like this. My SG-108 has the dropdown menu. the SG-109 not. SG-109 published last week.

on PC Browser…

Hi,
same on mine watch faces.
Even one of my watch face got dropdown menu, but I need to update graphics in description, and when Google Play accept my changes - dropdown menu disappeared

I wrote a mail to them, thats answer:

"I need more time to investigate your request. I appreciate your patience while I look further into your issue, and I will provide an update as soon as possible.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns about the Play Console in the meantime."

Then I wrote again that this is a huge problem for customers to copy and paste watch face link to web browser just to instal watch face on their watches and I’ve got some refund actions.
Will see if something happend…

The SG 109 only has a watch and not a mobile so it only showed that. when I clicked on purchase it showed for the Watch only. Did you have a Mobile app too?

Ron

No Ron, the SG-109 has a Companion app.

Version 3 (1.0.1) is Watchface

Version 2 (2.0.0) is Companion App

Hi. My brother who have no smartwatch but can see your product page (sg-109). So it have to be the companion app, right?

Yes, like any other WF.

The question is what we see WITH a smartwatch. Still just the companion app? I don’t want to buy to find out :grimacing:

With a smartwatch you can see the following in the Playstore app on the mobile phone at SG-109.

For comparison the SG-108.

If you open the Playstore on the PC or Mobile browser, it looks like this. A selection opens there

Same problem.
You can’t even search without the companion app.

When is Google going to fix it?

So had bought your SG-109 just to test how it works without the drop down.

Its installing the Companion App (only). With the companion app he send you to the watch where you install it separately. The question is. Does it still work without a companion app (new uploaded watch faces)?

But it shouldn’t be like that. I uploaded an update from the Companion app this morning, but I am not yet online. Let’s see if something changes

@matze_styles4you Ive uploaded free watch faces with and without companion app, you can check:

Without companion app:

With Companion app:

When you got now watch face with companion app you see only INSTALL button in google play, and whe you hit that - only companion app will be installed on your mobile. Then you have to use link to watch face in your web browser (mobile or PC) to get option to choose on which device application should be installed (for mobile - it will be companion app/ for watch face will be part of budle that is dedicated to this device - > it means watch face that you’ve created)

I saw that there is a way to make a button in companion app that will force installing proces on watch… but Im not programmer and I cant do this :frowning:
