I’m using the [SC] tag in a text element in Watch Face studio. The value doesn’t update at all unless I switch to a different watch face then back again. Is there anything I can do to fix this? It looks like Facer handles this fine but I’d like to not use Facer since I need a subscription to make a custom face. Everything else on the face updates just fine, including time, date, and heart rate.
Are you checking the value on the RUN tab or the editor tab? It should be changed on the RUN tab with the change of the step count value.
If you are facing an issue with the RUN tab, please share a sample project and your Watch Face Studio version.
It previews just fine in Watch Face Studio. The RUN tab updates as expected, it’s purely when I send it to my watch that it doesn’t work. I’m using a Fossil Gen 6 with Wear OS 3.5, Watch Face Studio version 1.6.10. I’ve even tried using the Small Box Complication Slot instead set to step count and it still behaves the same way.

Can’t check for myself but is the [SC] tag in brackets like this ([SC])? That somehow fixed my error.

Are you using a Fossil watch? From what I can glean online it seems as if this is an issue unique to Fossil. I already reached out to Fossil and they just said “talk to Samsumg about it”
No, I am not using Fossil Watch. I am using Samsung.
But you can try one more thing. Use one of my Free watch face where steps count added. Install it to your watch and check steps count work or not. If it is worked then you will understand - no problem from WFS software.
If it is not work, there is something data sync problem between fossil and wfs, maybe.
I have the same issue as with my watch face. It seems to be a WFS with Fossil issue.
