WFS Feature Requests Q1 2024

I would love to see some additional options with styles. I’d like to be able to save and import color schemes (so I don’t have to recreate 3-color combinations with each watch face). I’d love to be able to reorder the style options (i.e., move set color combinations up or down the list, for example, bringing the last color option up to be the first color option). I’d love to be able to rearrange the colors within a style (i.e., drag a color from the 2nd to the 3rd position, etc.).

It would also be nice to save and import configuration layouts from one face to another. I find I reuse the same type of complications across multiple faces and I have to recreate them each time. Even if this didn’t translate across projects, being able to save a complication “template” within a project would be helpful. Then modifying that one template would change all instances of it within the project, instead of copy/pasting and adjusting each one.

@ttnicky Your styles can be reorder via clicking a styles (not themes) and drag and drop to position.

As for color themes i will test later if the same can be done.

It’s probably themes I mean. Most of what I do is with the color combos, and those are a pain to rearrange or reorder. I haven’t messed much with styles (different image options, right?).

@ttnicky styles are the image thing.

@ttnicky if you talking about color order in each theme set the 3 color?

So, eg u have
Theme
1: blue, green , black
2: red, yellow, blue

U want to drag it so that

1: green,black , blue ?

Think only way to change like this is to click on each color and reselect for now.

The draging only allows u to change

for example

1: blue, green , black
2: red, yellow, blue

To

1:red, yellow, blue
2: blue, green , black

Sorry misunderstood your point.

So yeah draging makes it easy so good feature to add.

I didn’t realize I could drag them up and down, so thank you for that! And yes, I would also like to rearrange the order (as in your first example), because it is a pain to copy/past different color codes to redo a theme. Also, being able to save and import favorite color themes so I don’t have to recreate them with every watch face.

That has already been requested but I’ll add some priority to it as it is becoming more and more requested.

Happy new year. Couple of requests from me:

More tags available in wfs as standard e.g. active minutes, phone battery %.

Conditional colours on elements such as progress bars

Allow for watch face to display countdown timer remaining time not just rotating sandtimer icon

More flexibility on switching off/hiding system icons e.g. not showing the do not disturb icon on watch face if switched on

Ability to have more than one project open at a time and copy elements between each

Native Apple Silicon support

@jsmith88

For phone battery download Complications Suite Very good app by a frequent contributor to this forum.
You might suggest that they have a countdown timer added they are very receptive to suggestions.

I’ll ask but I don’t think they can do anything with system settings.

Copying between projects is something the WFS development team does want to do.

I’ll suggest more Health tags in general they should be able to use any in Health Services.

i don’t know if there is a way to do this already, but i want to get the AOD to bounce around the screen like a screen saver. i’m afraid of ghost images and screen burn.

edit: idk, is this even an issue for watch faces?

Thanks Ron, appreciate your response.

@amoledwatchfaces as above is this something you can spin up regarding the countdown timer complication, i do find it mad that all you can see on the face is the sand timer when running and not pull in the time remaining…

The ambient mode already does the movement to prevent screen burn. In the design guides they warn not to put AOD content near the edge because of this.

thank you. i have noticed sometimes i get a ghost image from the AOD when the screen wakes up, but then it goes away. that’s what prompted my question. thank you for your reply.

I bet you see that since the AOD updates on a minute tick not a second tick

Hi. I’ll see what I can do, I wanted to implement it before but stopped because was not able to finalize RANGED_VALUE support.

If you only need Timer - Countdown SHORT_TEXT, you may want to try Google Clock app. It works and shows remaining time.

Amazing thanks Tomas. Ranged value would be great to allow for the countdown to drive a bar/circle down.

I have tried google clock and it pulls in the countdown time well, it does behave oddly when going in and out of the app and watch face, when not running it also shows default copy of ‘set’ in the face complication which is annoying i feel it should be blank or customisable what it says when not running. Its a good starting point gor me though thanks for the advice.

Heads up anyone thinking of downloading that it also i stalls stopwatch and hand wash timer apps as part of it that cannot be uninstalled without removing the timer too.

Joe.

hi
should be shadow effect for text
should be digit spacing (kerning) for text (Especially a digital watch is also very necessary)
should be add image for progress bar and circle
thanks

Hi,
the first two things should be already possible (first with bitmap font feature and the other with proper font selection). But this one is interesting.

How should it work? What should the image do with the progress?

Something like a battery (4 lines) or hour glass,
a legs waking. progress instead of circle or line?

But these can be done with multiple image, using a image changing its size , rotation , position and used of tag expression.
