Yes, I can ping the IP address okay from the PC. Using the NetAnalyzer app, which can also ping the watch, it says all ports on the watch are closed, including the 26101. Sorry but I am unsure how to effect these first two test, “. . have the GWS serrated while connecting . .” or how to check that the port being used is 26101.
When Active2 updated last week my IP Address changed and I got that error message.
See if that is the reason you aren’t connecting it will give that error. On the watch Wifi Always on, check network tap it and scroll down to it shows the IP Address.
Robert is giving you some good information but something to add.
You will get that error if your PC is connected to the ethernet or a different band on the WiFi on older dual band modems 5Ghz and 2.4 Ghz were different. Be sure your PC is connected to the 2.4 Ghz band on the modem.
If you do connect to the watch using Tizen Studio Device manager, launch certificate manager and it will show the Device ID you can copy that for GWS. I’ve not been able to use Tizen Studio distributor certificate on GWS or vice versa.

I had no problems before using a wired PC and a wireless watch. I have a spare WiFi USB modem here, and got the PC running on WiFi, and unplugged the ethernet cable. The WiFi APs were limited to just the 2.4 band. The PC was rebooted, as was the watch.
I uninstalled Tizen Sudio, and reinstalled it, as before the Studio itself would not load, nor the Certificate Manager. Now they both do. The Device Manager still won’t tag the watch, and shows the same 3 reasons, and the GWS still shows the same “Connecting to 192.168”.
On some WiFi modems people have no problem connecting with the ethernet but I think for the majority of modems it won’t work and that is why our instructions say connect both computer and watch to the same WiFi.
Just to be sure. You have the WiFi Always on. The Device Manager is trying to connect to the same IP address as the Watch no wild card *s. Debugging is enabled and also Developer Options are enabled
Hold down the the power button on your watch for 15 seconds until it says rebooting. Wait one minute after restarting
Open a factory preset watch face
Restart Device manager
and try to connect.
Watch your watch and while you shouldn’t get any RSA encryption key notice it may happen with tizen studio. It will probably happen when you try to connect GWS.
If you still can’t access the watch then it is a port conflict. I got instructions somewhere on how to track this down but it is really rare that it happens.
Ron
Thanks Ron for your time and efforts. Designing in GWS has been a really fun hobby, and I hope to get the ability back to connect to the watch. In the watch I see the developer mode, but where do I find the debugging to enable?
Enable Debugger is in the About Watch settings.
Ron
Yay! Many thanks, Ron! It was either the debugger setting or the standard watch face, and after 2 more tried in the Device Manager the RSA prompt appeared! Many thanks again.
i’ve got the same problem and i can’t solve it
You may not have the same problem. How you are trying to connect, What computer you have, what mobile you have and more importantly what watch you have all can make a difference. I can pretty much work with you on anyone of them but I need to know specifics.

My computer is a surface pro 4 , my phone a galaxy s20+ and my watch a galaxy watch (46mm)
I had the same initial problem (on sdboverbt it’s marked “socket: enable” and “bluetooth: enable”) but Galaxy Watch Studio cannot find the watch. So I tried with wifi (2.4 ghz) and it still doesn’t work. i ping the ip address and it make the link. tizen stuio can’t find my watch too.
Hi Lambert,
Generally when you can ping a watch and it can’t connect you don’t have debugging turned on or you rejected the RSA Encryption Key.
Hold down the power button for about 15 seconds until it says rebooting and restart your computer. (Restart it don’t just turn off and on so you clear any caches.) Also restart your mobile. After all restart be sure developer options is on by tapping on Software Version (Settngs-> About Watch) and enable debugging. In The C:\users\Username\ there is a hidden folder .tizen delete the sdbkey and sdbkey.pub files.
Make sure that in the develop options for your mobile that enable BT debugging is turned on.
make your watch face one of the preinstalled watch faces.
Now you are ready
connect mobile to watch first
Launch GWS
connect mobile to computer and allow data transfer (not just media)
select run on device in GWS and the Android icon should come up
Watch your watch keep it active for a RSA Encryption key and allow it
You may have one for mobile too if this is the first time you connected to the computer
The watch should show in the run on device now and you can get distributor certificate and run on device.

The debugging mode are on on the 2 devices.
I restarted everything but I can’t find the hiden folder.tizen
In file explorer - View tab select Hidden Items
If it still doesn’t show, it should after you try to connect.

ok, In the C:\users\Username.android I’ve got a sdbkey.pub file but there is no sdbkey file
I may have remembered wrong, but there are two files and you delete both. If there is only one it may be because you never did connect.

yes, there isn’t a .tizen file
what am i supposed to do to make this work?
I activated debugging mode on the watch and rebooted it.
I also activated it on my smartphone.
I used the sdboverbt and got a message on my watch that I accepted
despite this, the program cannot find the watch.
i also try with the ip address but it doesn’t work.
I tried everything but nothing worked
It is a hidden folder not a file and it should be created when you create GWS or the first time you connect. If it isn’t there don’t worry about it unless it isn’t there after you connect.

I only have a GearWatchDesign folder but there is no .tizen folder.
What do you mean by connect ?
It is not in C:\Users\USERNAME\GearWatchDesigner folder it is in the C:\Users\USERNAME\ folder
Do you have your phone connected to your computer with a USB connection, Does it show on SDBoverBT like this?
If so you are connected.
and you should see this in GWS
If you have an Active2 watch or Galaxy Watch3 you can not debug via SDBoverBT until a firmware is updated and I know it is scheduled but don’t know when.
If you have an older Tizen 4 or Tizen 3 watch then you probably just haven’t created your Distributor Certificate and that is the issue.
